The Consultancy and Research Hub (CARes-Hub), in partnership with Plan International Liberia, successfully conducted a three-day intensive training for enumerators and field supervisors from February 17 to 19, 2026, in preparation for the Communities Needs Assessment (CNA) under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP). This training marks, a critical milestone in ensuring the successful implementation of the assessment and the generation of reliable evidence to support women’s empowerment initiatives across Liberia.
The training brought together a team of qualified field professionals who will lead data collection across targeted project communities. The sessions focused on strengthening technical competencies in survey methodology, sampling procedures, ethical research conduct, and the use of digital data collection platforms. Participants received hands-on training in tablet-based data collection, GPS coordinate capture, and standardized interview techniques to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the data collection process.
A key emphasis of the training was placed on research ethics, safeguarding principles, and respondent confidentiality, in line with international best practices and Plan International’s safeguarding standards. Participants also engaged in practical exercises, including mock interviews and field simulations, designed to reinforce their readiness to operate effectively in real-world community settings.
The Communities Needs Assessment is a vital component of the Liberia Women Empowerment Project, which aims to strengthen women’s economic participation, improve access to opportunities, and address barriers affecting women and vulnerable groups. The assessment will generate critical insights into community needs, service access gaps, and socio-economic conditions, providing an evidence base to guide program interventions and policy decisions.
This initiative further reinforces CARes-Hub’s position as a leading Liberian research and consulting institution committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based solutions. Through its partnership with Plan International Liberia, CARes-Hub continues to contribute to national development efforts by strengthening local research capacity and supporting programs that promote inclusive and sustainable development.
With the successful completion of the training, CARes-Hub has deployed a fully prepared and technically equipped field team to commence data collection. The findings from the assessment will play a key role in shaping targeted interventions under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project and advancing efforts to empower women and strengthen communities.
